Below you can find driving tips and basic traffic regulations
for Bulgaria
. Minimum legal driver's age is 18 years . Children must be at least 12 years of age to sit
on the front seat . Seat belts are compulsory for front-seat passengers . Drive on the right and overtake on the left
. Trams always have priority
. Park on the right only on one-way street . Yield to vehicles approaching from the right at crossroads and to
buses in urban areas . Speed limit is: 50 km/h in city limits, 90 km/h outside city limits,
130 km/h on highways . Drinking and driving is prohibited - maximum blood alcohol level
allowed is 0.5%
. Pedestrians on banded cross walks have priority over all vehicles
except trams . Vignette system is in place for all private cars and it is available
at the borders . In big cities park on authorized parking lots only to avoid fines and
towing . Road signs are mostly in Cyrillic alphabet except on highways and
major roads

. Fuel stations are located in every town or 30-40 km along the main
roads. Most stations operate 24 hours. only. Shell and OMV accept credit
cards.
